In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America

Ireland 2017. Dir: Maurice Fitzpatrick. 90 min. DCP

In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America is a feature documentary that tells the extraordinary story of Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume. Inspired by Martin Luther King, Hume rose from the riot-torn streets of North Ireland to enlist American presidents and other world leaders in an effort to secure peace in his homeland. Narrated by Liam Neeson and scored by Bill Whelan, the film includes interviews with Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, John Major, and others. At a time of political instability, In the Name of Peace is a timely film examining steady leadership and international cooperation” (Galway Film Fleadh).
