A huge round of applause for all the attendees, donors and volunteers who helped make SCENE - our second annual red carpet gala benefit - a success! The evening was a fabulous one with film lovers taking advantage of all the night had to offer including a silent auction, a one-minute silent film activity and touchups by make-up artist Dena Kent. BC’s man about town Fred Lee, film reviewer Ian Caddell and film writer Katherine Monk hosted the evening and Canvas Lounge staff did an amazing job serving up supreme customer service along with tasty canapés and yummy cocktails. Over $21,000 was raised at the event and plans are already in motion for a 2010 gala!
The EUFF rolls out this week with a great line-up of events. For those of you in attendance on Friday night for the “Age of Stupid,” make sure to look up before the film starts for a rare glimpse of the Northern Lights. Yes, Tourism Yukon along with TBWA Vancouver have taken a unique approach to advertising by projecting the Northern Lights on the ceiling of the Cinémathèque’s screening room. It looks pretty cool and makes me think, a trip to the Yukon is in my near future.
Best,
Amber
